Everybody should have a mobile, (in my opinion) they add so much life to a nursery and come in all sorts of styles, shapes, and sizes. So many are DIYable too! My current favorite would have to be big, frilly pom-poms grouped together, they are so interesting and add such an eclectic vibe to the room.
Mobiles don't have to just be for babies, either-your little one would still enjoy this colorful grouping even when it graduates from the crib:
